Book Clubs

Since the publication of my first novel, The Last Winter of Dani Lancing, I have been lucky enough to have been asked by a few local book clubs to come and talk to their members and be grilled about my writing. My favourite was a book club that consisted of women psychologists from Brighton University, such great questions. I have also answered a series of questions by email, from a book group in Canada and have skyped into discussions in the UK and US.

The photo on this page is me talking to a library discussion group in Newark, NY. It was organised by my father-in-law and I talked about the second novel, Summer of Ghosts, after he had given a talk about the first. I spoke for about half an hour and then gave a reading.

I am available to interact with any book group anywhere in the world, to answer questions and talk about my work – even offer a reading or share pieces that are works in progress. If you are in London, Brighton and environs I can physically visit, but I am happy to facetime/skype with any other group. Just use the form below to send me a message.

I also have a discussion/question sheet that a group of teachers put together for The Last Winter of Dani Lancing you can download it and copy/distribute/use: Last Winter book group topics. There will be the same for Summer of Ghosts soon.

I am also happy to contribute blog posts or take part in on-line discussions or forums.

One fascinating example of how on-line book discussion can be incredibly stimulating is the Left To Write project. Book bloggers read my book and then wrote pieces that were inspired by it.
